May Event - Mount Rushmore, Black Hills & Badlands Escorted Bus Tour Adventure

Our trip to Alaska last year was so much fun, we decided to take another trip this year.  Our destination is South Dakota to see some amazing sites such as Mount Rushmore, Crazy Horse Memorial, Custer State Park, Badlands National Park, and several others.  Our sense of adventure continues . . .

What Are We Doing?  Going on an Escorted Bus Tour Adventure to see some of the amazing sites in South Dakota.  

​

About the Tour:  

  • Tour Name:  The Best of Mount Rushmore, The Black Hills, and Badlands

  • Tour Dates:  May 17 - May 23, 2026 (7 days/6 nights)

    • We will fly on May 16 and spend an extra night at the hotel before the trip starts

  • Tour Company:  Road Scholar

    • A not-for-profit tour company that focuses on learning about, not just looking at, amazing places.  They have experts and historians who share the history and tell stories about the places we will visit, so it's more than just sitting on a tour bus.

  • Tour Costs:  

    • Tour - $2,099.00 each (double occupancy)

      • $100.00 deposit due at time of registration - Paid

      • Balance due by March 19, 2026.

        • Note:  They request payment be made by check or through your bank's billpay option to cut down on credit card fees 

    • Trip Protection - $170.00 each - Paid

    • AirFare - TBD (approx $550.00 round trip)

    • Transportation from airport to hotel and back - TBD

    • Extra night at hotel before trip - $206.50 per room (Includes taxes)  

      • Reserved / Pay on Arrival

    • Possibly a few additional meals, souvenirs, etc. 

  • What's Included:

    • 6 nights accommodations (we will be staying at the same hotel for the entire trip)

      • K Bar S Lodge, 434 Old Hill City Road, Keystone, SD​

    • 15 meals (6 breakfasts / 4 lunches / 6 dinners)

    • 5 expert-led lectures

    • 9 expert-led field trips

    • 1 performance

    • An experienced Group Leader

    • Customary gratuities throughout the program (including gratuity for Group Leader)

    • Taxes

    • Road Scholar Assurance Plan
